In a shelf stand files labelled with inscriptions of different numerical and alphabetical systems of order from all over the world. Here the only thing remainig is pure order. On the one hand, the system of order carrys itself ad absurdum, on the other hand it is the leading power to which everything is submitted.[more]

A - BC 123 – video installation, 2006

An automobile with the registration plate “A – BC 123” drives into the frame. The driver is turning on the warning lights. But these are not behaving like expected. The synchrony of the left and the right lights gets out of control. The driver isn't noticing anything at all. She isn't guessing that outside the world is just about going crazy.[more]

THIS SIDE UP! – wall painting and performance, 2006

A painting with the inscription “THIS SIDE UP!” has been applied upside down to the gallery wall at the exhibition opening. The arrows point to the floor. Was it “hung” the wrong way? During the exhibition a performance takes place and the image is corrected. So it hangs the right way at the finissage.[more]

Gathering Dust – mixed media installation, 2005

A flower vase stands on a pedestal, next to it a monitor with the image of the same vase.. On the monitor a sledge hammer enters the image and destroys it. Then the pieces rearrange to a vase again, whereupon the whole procedure starts from the beginning.[more]

Dibond – photography, 2005

A photo print was mounted on a dibond plate of the same size. The photo is a shot of the same plate at a point of time, when it was not yet mounted. Only further examination reveals subtle grain on the photographic paper and a slight blur on the edges of the label “Dibond”. [more]

Escape Velocity – four channel video installation, 2004

Loops of split second every day traffic scenes are projected on four screens which delineate a room like its four walls.Little by little, the visual content gives way to the impression of a complex, nested rhythm. The commonplace traffic is transformed to metronomes of a superordinate abstract composition.[more]

Cities can be perceived as being complex processes of civilisation. Cities, when contrarily perceived as steady states, emphasise the idea of eternity. Using just three still images this myth is “hacked up”, and then reanimated to become mythical again. A saturnine vision of the collapse of accelerated civilisation.[more]
